Hyderabad: Former minister and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy has clarified that his guest house situated at the Himayat Sagar lake doesn't fall under the buffer zone or Full Tank Level (FTL) and the house has been constructed with all government regulations.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Patnam Mahender Reddy said that the guest house was constructed strictly following the rules and regulations of the government.
He disclosed that the land was legally purchased in 1999 and the building was constructed with proper permissions given by then district collector and irrigation officials.
At the time of the construction, I had invited irrigation officials to inspect the site. They certified that there was no violation, the MLC said.
He further assured that if any aspect of the construction is found to be in violation of the regulations, he would fully cooperate with the government's actions, even to the extent of demolishing the building himself.
Patnam Mahender Reddy has reiterated that his farm house does not violate any norms and he is willing to assist the government if any discrepancies are found.
He further stated that the Regional Ring Road passes through the lands purchased by his grandfather and hence, there is no need for them to violate any rules for a small property.
The Congress MLC also welcomed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's actions of demolishing illegal constructions situated at the buffer zones and FTL of water bodies.
Even though many people, including MPs and other prominent individuals, own properties within the areas governed by GO 111, my property does not fall within the FTL or buffer zones, he said.
The Congress MLC condemned the remarks of BRS working president KT Rama Rao and said that KT Rama Rao was levelling baseless allegations without knowing the facts.
